On Ash Wednesday (this week!), Lent begins. For those who don’t know, it’s a time many Christians prepare for Easter by spending the 40 days (Sundays not included) leading up to Easter (when we celebrate Christ’s resurrection!). The 40 days represent the time Jesus spent in the desert, where according to the Bible He endured temptation by satan. (Matthew 4:1-11, Mark 1:9-13, Luke 4:1-14). Believers often spend this time in fasting, repentance, moderation, spiritual discipline, and self denial.
